Parking Permits
Permits are sold on a first come - first serve basis. A permit does not guarantee that there will always be a parking space available nor does it reserve a public parking space. The city has sole discretion to sell, renew, or recall any permit based on the availability of space.

Permits can only be used in metered parking spaces on-street, parking lots, and public garages located in the Downtown and Hollywood Beach areas and/or designated permit areas. Permits do not allow a vehicle to parking in violation of any municipal code or parking regulation, such as time limits, nor in private parking lots.

Parking in Excess of Posted Time Limits is Prohibited
Permit holders are not allowed to park in excess of posted time limits. Parking in excess of posted time limit is when a vehicle remains parked in a public parking space longer than the time indicated on the sign posted on the public street. Time limits vary from 15 minutes to three hours.

After expiration of time, a vehicle must move a one block radius in any direction from the original parking space. Vehicles that have not been moved after 24 hours will be cited.

Long-Term Parking in Downtown for Permit Holders - 24 Hours Maximum

Permit holders can park for up to 24 hours in the designated long-term parking areas located in downtown Hollywood. After expiration of time, a vehicle must move a one block radius in any direction from the original parking space. Vehicles that have not been moved after 24 hours will be cited.

Proper Display of Permit
A current parking permit must be clearly visible at all times while parked. Decals (sticker permits) must be affixed, using the adhesive on the backside, to the driver's side front windshield. Hangtag permits must be hung from the rearview mirror with the printed side facing out so it can be read from the front of the vehicle. Permits displayed in any other location in the vehicle will not be honored.

In addition, City-issued permits shall not be copied, reproduced or altered in any manner.

Note: The City may issue a citation and revoke permit use for any improper use of the permit.

Special Event Parking
The City reserves the right to charge a flat rate for special event parking. During special events, parking permits are not valid in the public parking garages and Johnson Street Lot. Permit holders will be required to pay the special event rate prior to entering these facilities.
