Flexible Volunteering
Volunteer times are flexible. You volunteer when and where you can. The city offers volunteer opportunities during the work week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and on some opportunities during the weekends. Volunteers can choose to participate in short-term service events, special projects, and community projects or pledge long-term commitment to the volunteer program by participating in office work, volunteer groups, or internships.

The Purpose Of Volunteer Hollywood
Volunteer Hollywood’s purpose is to promote, foster, and support the growth of volunteerism within the city’s departments, offices, and the community. Volunteer Hollywood provides a number of volunteer opportunities, such as office assignments, service events and special projects that allow volunteers to give back in a fun and educational approach.

Many offices and departments in the city participate in the volunteer program by creating volunteer opportunities and requesting volunteers to meet their needs.

History Of The Volunteer Program
Volunteer Hollywood is the municipal volunteer program of the City of Hollywood. The volunteer program was created by a resolution in August 2000.

With the hiring of the first volunteer coordinator in September 2000, the volunteer program began to expand volunteerism in the City of Hollywood by recruiting, screening, training, and placing volunteers in much needed places in the City and creating city-wide projects.

In March 2001, the volunteer program hired its second volunteer coordinator. Five years later, the name Volunteer Hollywood was adopted, after the hiring of the third volunteer coordinator.
