Establishing New Utility Service
New utility accounts can be opened in person at City Hall, 2600 Hollywood Blvd, Room # 103. Requirements include:
  • A state issued photo ID
  • A copy of your lease (if you are renting) or closing documents (if you are the new property owner)
  • The appropriate deposit. The city's Municipal Ordinance requires all new customers to prepay their deposit. Find your deposit amount.

If you are the property owner and in the event you are out of state or cannot visit our office in person, the Utility Service Application can be printed and mailed with the appropriate documentation and deposit as described above. Please call our customer service department at 954.921.3938 if you must use this option.

Repeated delinquency or multiple returned checks may result in an additional deposit being required. The city pays interest on your deposit annually.

Deposits are refunded after 23 months of continuous service to owner occupied Single-Family, Duplex, or Triplex residential customers, provided the customer's account has remained in good credit standing.

When an account is closed, the deposit is either applied toward any outstanding balances remaining on the account or refunded.
