This neighborhood park is a jewel to the
Northwest Hollywood community providing a beautiful
setting for quiet play for children on the recently resurfaced,
shaded playground.
It also features a fitness trail and half basketball court.

Boulevard Heights Community Center & Amphitheater

This new center is approximately 10,000 square feet, with a
large multi-purpose room, four meeting rooms, restrooms, a
kitchen and a shade-covered outdoor playground. On the south
side is a covered, raised outdoor performance stage. The stage's
open lawn seating area is located under large, mature shade
trees, setting the stage for many future performances. Scheduled for September opening.

Driftwood
Community Center & Athletic Fields

The 9,000 square foot Driftwood Center houses individual rooms
for classes, dance, meetings and a computer lab. A reception area and warming
kitchen add to its rental amenities. It also has a four-field athletic complex,
concession stand, playground on artificial turf and parking lots.

Driftwood
Aquatic Complex

The grand opening of the Driftwood Community Pool was held
March, 2004 providing the community with year-round programming
from open swim to specialty classes to the Hollywood Dolphin
Swim Team. Thorguard Lightning protection is provided and the
pool is heated for the cooler seasons. All staff is American Red
Cross certified.

Located behind the Boulevard
Heights
Community Center is
Hollywood's newest Skate
Park, designed with the help of
local skate park users.
The skate park will feature a 120" X 90" skate area,
including a half-pipe, rails and steps along with picnic benches
for skaters to ride. Scheduled
for late summer opening. |

Hollywood West Sports Complex 6770 Garfield Street
Hollywood West Sports fields have been
totally renovated and updated. There is a new 210" x 390"
football/soccer field.
This field is covered in an artificial turf called
Astroturf GameDay Grass 3D providing for games and open play
with no down-time for growing seasons. Next to this is a natural
turf baseball field that can also be used for soccer. The
lighting fixtures for the ball fields are energy efficient
lights with minimal light spillage to the neighboring
properties, making them eco-friendly and a good neighbor.
To complement the new
fields there is a new concession stand and restroom building
centrally located between them. Across from the concession stand
is a new maintenance building and a new parking lot with 262
spaces. Scheduled
for late summer opening. |

Williams Park

A favorite among scouts, overnight campers and nature lovers,
John Williams Park allows a close encounter with nature while
providing passive recreational activities.
GOB Bond enhancements include a new dog park area; new picnic
pavilions; an instructional pavilion; picnic tables & benches.
Unique to Sheridan Oak Forest is the nature walk
which includes interpretive signage for vegetation along
the pathway. The park also has playground
equipment and restrooms. |

This well shaded park has a playground, benches, a concrete
walkway and newly-planted trees. |

Mara Berman Giulianti Park in Emerald Hills 4151 N. Hills Drive
This charming park was named in honor of long-standing Mayor
Mara Giulianti. It features a pavilion, picnic tables, a
basketball half-court, a playground, benches and a bathroom. |

Oak Lake Park

Oak Lake
Community Center has recently been renovated with received a new
rip-rap retaining wall on the lake side, a new lakefront
concrete waterfront patio area, new windows, new glass doors,
electric and plumbing upgrades, interior partitions, framing and
fascia, as well as new stucco and paint applied to the
exterior.The park renovation will provide a pavilion,
playground, walking path and observation landings on the lake.
The newly renovated community center is a perfect
location for baby showers, small receptions and private parties.

Oakridge
Park 5200 SW 35th Avenue
This park was created
in one day by DaimlerChrysler executives working with City
employees and civic association members.
Their contribution also included
$100,000 for playground equipment, 50 cypress trees and
landscaping for the 37-acre site.
The site now features a play area for dogs
and their owners, two covered playgrounds, one on wood chips,
and one on artificial turf, a small pavilion,
a walking path, an
additional pavilion, benches and two parking lots.

T.Y. park has picnic areas, lakesie gazebos all with water, electricity,
grills, and tables, a Swimming Lagoon, which includes a waterfall, bathhouse, and a freshwater beach. The new Castaway
Island water playground complex features two pools, a picnic area, and
restrooms. T.Y. also offers several kinds of boats for rent, two hard tennis courts, two
basketball courts, a biking/jogging path, volleyball areas, and concessions. |

Avenue. Citizens located in the central to west portion of the

register for athletic programs, rent park pavilions and obtain
information on all city-wide programs and events. The Parks
Manager
Neftale Beltran; Assistant Parks & Athletic Manager David Vazquez and Park
Ranger Coordinator Tom Lauridia are based there. Office hours
are
from 10:00 a.m. - Noon and 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Monday through
Friday. |
