Candy Cane Parade
Lifetime Achievement Award

Over the years the Public Utilities Department has lead the way at the Candy Cane Parades. That is because this community-oriented event, provides our Department a way to reach out to the residents and community while having a fun time.

For six consecutive years our department came out in style, winning both the Best City Entry and Best Float at the Candy Cane Parade. "Screaming Eagle," "Jungle Bells," "Star Wars" and our other float themes have overwhelmed the judges year after year.

In recognition for this accomplishment, The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts has presented the Public Utilities Department with a "Lifetime Achievement Award." We are honored with this achievement, and even though this award no longer allows us to be eligible for the Best Float Award, we will continue to contribute to this enjoyable event that is fun for all who participate.

The Public Utilities Department would like to express our gratitude to all those who have contributed to this great event. We are grateful to all our staff, and their families and friends, who have worked on the floats over the years, and to everyone who came out to share in the fun.
