Reclaimed Water

Florida has been a national leader in water reuse programs, and The City of Hollywood is one of the participants in this resource conservation initiative. Florida has had over 30 years of Reclaimed water experience with no public health problems, and extensive scientific studies on health effects have documented reuse safety. In 1991 the City performed a Reuse Feasibility Study which concluded that reuse was feasible for Hollywood.

The current system provides tertiary treatment to the WWTP effluent, providing extremely filtered water with no trace of sewage. This water is then piped to six golf courses around the City of Hollywood where it is available for irrigation. To receive a tour of our Reclaimed Water System, just CLICK HERE.
