Mixing and Disinfection

At this point the water from both treatment paths are combined back into one system. This blending provides for a well balanced finished water product that is clean, safe, and pure. The combined water is treated with caustic soda to increase the pH to between 6.8 and 8.0, then disinfected with chlorine and ammonia to ensure no bacteria is present that could cause illness.
