The "Consumer Choice Act of 2007" became law on July 1, 2007. The law
removes cable television regulation
from municipalities and counties and places it under the auspices of the State of Florida. In addition,
the legislation removes the responsibility for handling cable television consumer complaints from the
municipalities and places in under the auspices of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
