Film Permit Information

 

Film permits are required for film, video or still photography shoots in public right-of-way or on public property in the City of Hollywood. The Public Affairs and Marketing Division issues the permit and coordinates any City services that may be needed. Please call (954) 921-3201 or fax (954) 921-3314. Depending on the size, scope and location of the proposed production, the City of Hollywood may require applicants to pay fees consisting of:

  1. Parking Fees
  2. Police Detail Permit and Service Fees
  3. Generator/Fire Inspection Fees
  4. City Park Usage Fees

Film Permit Procedure
The following requirements are needed to secure a permit:

  • Certificate of Insurance which includes the following:
    • Name of the insured production company
    • Name of the insurance company
    • A policy which provides at least $1,000,000 of Comprehensive General Liability
    • Policy number and dates of coverage
    • Certificate holder should be named as follows:
      City of Hollywood
      2600 Hollywood Blvd.
      Hollywood, FL 33020
    • FOR GENERAL LIABILITY ONLY: THE CERTIFICATE HOLDER IS NOTED AS ADDITIONAL INSURED WITH RESPECT TO CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE OPERATIONAL OF THE NAMED INSURED.
  • Completed film permit application which includes the following:
    • Dates
    • Times
    • Parking requirements (number and types of vehicles)
    • Size of cast and crew
    • Description of scenes
    • Approximate budget
       
  • Location maps may be requested depending on the project.
  • If the location is in a neighborhood or near businesses, we request that you distribute a notification letter to all affected by the shoot as far in advance as possible.
  • The permit must be signed by an authorized representative of your company.
  • When all of the above requirements are met, a film permit can be issued within 4 business days; all production projects will require a meeting between a production representative and various City Departments prior to issuing a permit.
  • A complete film permit application and Certificate of Insurance should be faxed  to 954-921-3314 (Public Affairs and Marketing) a minimum of five working days before the scheduled shoot date(s).
