Overview
Community programs make residents more aware of safety issues in their homes and neighborhoods and help students understand the dangers posed by drug and alcohol abuse. Through community programs, police officers work closely with residents to establish trusting relationships that are vital to creating and maintaining a safe community. The following are just a few of the programs that keep the Hollywood Police Department and our community connected.
Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood
The purpose of the club is to help young people ages 7 to 17 improve their lives by building self-esteem and developing values and skills during their critical period of growth.
Services and programs provided focus on everything from
- Cultural enrichment
- Education
- Health and physical education
- Leadership and citizenship development
- Personal adjustment with one-on-one counseling
- Social recreation
Enhancing Quality Of Life
The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs is to assure and to enhance the quality of life for children as participating members of a diverse urban society. The club hosts a teen pregnancy group, RBI baseball tournament and computer lab, as well as other programs.
The Boys and Girls Club is open from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Police Explorers
This program is administered by the Hollywood Police Family Services Section. The Police Explorers is a character building organization that exposes students to the law enforcement arena.
