The Hollywood Police Department is committed to providing the best possible law enforcement and crime prevention services for every resident and visitor in our city. The
Volunteer Mobile Patrol is a resource we have put in place to enhance these efforts. After successfully completing training, qualified citizen volunteers in a marked mobile patrol vehicle make the rounds of their areas looking for and reporting suspicious activity.
Requirements for becoming a Mobile Patrol Volunteer:
- Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
- Candidate must be a Hollywood resident or business owner.
- Candidate must complete an application, sign a waiver, and pass the background check. Candidate must agree to a yearly or periodic background check.
- Candidate must complete the Mobile Patrol Training or Citizens Police Academy and any refresher courses offered.
- Candidate must have a valid driver's license.
- Candidate must comply with Citizens Mobile Patrol Conduct and Dress Code.
- Candidate must abide by all policies and procedures of this program.
- Candidate cannot have any criminal convictions within the last five years and cannot have an adult arrest history.
- Candidate must immediately notify the Hollywood Police Department of any criminal arrest that occurs while participating in this program.
- The Department reserves the discretion to refuse any applicant and/or dismiss any participant.
