Captain is Hollywood Art Exhibition

Wednesday, January 23, 2019

The ArtsPark at Young Circle Gallery is set to open a unique environmental exhibition titled "Captain is Hollywood" featuring artist Maria Isabel Lazo in partnership with The Marine Environmental Education Center at the Carpenter House in Hollywood. The exhibit opens January 23 and will be on display until March 17, 2019. An artist’s reception will be held on Thursday, February 21st from 6:00 to 9:30 pm in the Gallery. Conservation "Talks" will be given throughout the exhibit. All are welcome to attend, admission is free. The MEEC was fostered from a partnership between Broward County Parks and Recreation and Nova Southeastern University. It educates the South Floridian community through its resident green turtle, Captain, of the need to conserve and protect our marine and coastal environments. This artistic effort grew from the eagerness to unite art with conservation issues. The exhibit consists of a series of original acrylic and oil paintings of marine, mangrove & tropical Art.
