UPDATE AS OF 6:30 AM, Thursday, Nov 10, 2022
Hurricane Nicole made landfall in the overnight hours just south of Vero Beach. As the storm moves away from the South Florida area conditions have improved. The National Weather Service has lifted the Tropical Storm Warning for Broward County, but coastal areas including the City of Hollywood remain under a flood advisory until 7:00 p.m. tonight. Minor coastal flooding will be possible today particularly during high tide cycles (10:14 a.m. and 10:18 p.m.) Additionally, the surf remains elevated but is expected to gradually diminish through Friday. Rip currents are expected along both coasts today.
City of Hollywood crews are cleaning roadways impacted by flooding and sand on the barrier island. Please avoid these areas to allow crews to complete clean-up operations as quickly and safely as possible.
