TRAFFIC ALERT:
The City’s Design and Construction Management office is replacing the existing mast-arm traffic signal supports at City Hall Circle. The City's contractor, AUM Construction, will be working at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and S. 26th Avenue on the south side of the circle on Saturday, October 21st. from 9am to 3:30pm. Crews will be replacing the traffic signal controller and cabinet. It will be necessary to turn off the traffic signal at this intersection when the new equipment is installed. Hollywood Police and flaggers will be on site to assist with motorist and pedestrian traffic. Seek an alternate route to avoid delays. For questions or concerns, please contact AUM’s Aldo Apollini at (305) 456-4848.
Construction activities for the Hollywood Boulevard/26th Avenue Mast Arms Replacement Project began on Wednesday, May 10th. Three new traffic signal mast arms (the structure that holds a traffic signal) are being replaced, and the existing defunct turnaround lanes from Hollywood Boulevard eastbound to Van Buren Street will be closed. Construction is expected to last through September 2023.
During this period, intermittent, temporary lane closures on N./S. 26th Avenue, Hollywood Boulevard, Van Buren Street and Polk Street are to be expected. These closures are necessary to complete this project. Additional minor signal work at these intersections will take place this fall and the project is expected to be fully completed by early 2024.
When full road closures are required, detours will be in place to ensure access to all residents. All related activities will occur in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the City, and staff will work to limit noise or disruptions throughout the construction period.
For the safety and security of all, please obey all temporary traffic control devices and flaggers, and drive cautiously near work zones.
