[ARCHIVED] Diplomat Parkway Residents and Neighbors Asked to Share Feedback

Over the years, residents living along the Diplomat Parkway corridor have requested sidewalks be constructed as a pedestrian safety enhancement.  The City of Hallandale Beach recently constructed continuous sidewalk just to the south, which now provides pedestrian connectivity from our shared City Limit to Hallandale Beach Boulevard. In Hollywood, City staff is now exploring the possibility of constructing a continuous section of sidewalk along the east side of Diplomat Parkway. Due to the potential impact on property owners in this area, staff is asking for feedback from the property owners who would be directly impacted.

The proposed sidewalk would be located approximately six (6) feet to the east of the existing edge of the pavement of Diplomat Parkway’s northbound travel lane. The sidewalk would be five (5) feet in width.  Installation of a new sidewalk may require the removal of existing landscaping located within the City’s right-of-way. Sidewalks would not impact decorative residential driveway surfaces.

The City of Hollywood would like to obtain consensus from residents whose properties are immediately adjacent to the proposed sidewalk before proceeding with the development of an improvement project plan. Please take the brief survey by clicking on the link below to let us know your thoughts.

Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please call Rick Mitinger, City of Hollywood Traffic Engineer.
