In September, Governor Ron DeSantis announced all of Florida has moved into Phase III of his Recovery Plan. Residents should remain vigilant and continue to take the necessary safety precautions and avoid the “3 C’s” – Closed Spaces, Crowded Places and Close-Contact Settings, wear a facial covering when in public, and maintain social distancing of at least six feet.

Holiday Curfew in Effect
Broward County is currently under a 9-day curfew that began on Thursday, December 24th and runs through Monday, January 4, 2021. The curfew will be in place from midnight to 5:00 a.m. each day. However, On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, the curfew runs from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Hollywood Beach Open
All beaches in Broward County, including Hollywood Beach are open for ocean activities (such as surfing, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, body surfing) and land-based active recreation and exercise (such as walking, running, biking, surf fishing, volleyball, soccer, and football), subject to group size limits. Picnicking, sunbathing, sitting or lying on the beach as well as the use of umbrellas, canopies, chairs, loungers, and coolers are also permitted. All persons using the beaches in Broward must comply with the requirements in place in Broward County Emergency Order 20-29 issued on September 25, 2020. The City shall apply and enforce all restrictions pertaining to Hollywood Beach as set forth in Broward County Emergency Order 20-29, summarized below. Beach Restrictions
- Beach hours shall be limited to between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
- Facial coverings must be worn when social distancing of at least six feet (6’) between persons (other than members of the same household or group) cannot be maintained, including when using elevators to access the beach, in restrooms, and when visiting beach concessions.
- All persons must have a facial covering available and ready to use at all times; persons must be able to show their facials coverings upon request by local authority.
- Disposable facial coverings and other disposable personal protective equipment such as gloves must be discarded properly, littering of facial coverings or other personal protective equipment is prohibited.
- The use of facial coverings is not required when engaged in active recreation or exercise, or when in the water. Facial coverings should not be used by children under two (2) years old.
- Except for those events and activities in sections 7 and 8 immediately below, no group gatherings or events of more than 10 people are permitted.
- Beach weddings and other outdoor events involving up to 100 people (including all attendees) must comply with the requirements of 20-29 Chapter 5, Chapter 30, and any applicable
Specific Use requirements. Outdoor events involving more than 100 people (including all attendees) are prohibited unless conducted pursuant to an operational plan in accordance with Section 5.D.2 of this CEO. This provision does not apply to Organized Sporting events. Organized Sports are subject to Section 25.A.8 below. - Organized Sports are permitted at the beach and must comply with the Specific Use requirements in Chapter 29 of 20-29 if there will be spectators. Organized Sports are not subject to
the 10-person limit in Section 25 .A.6 of 20-29. Individuals must maintain at least 6 feet of Social Distancing between people at all times ( other than members of the same household
or group), including when in the water. While engaged in an Organized Sport, Social Distancing must be practiced to the maximum extent practicable and to the extent the Organized Sport so permits. - Beach concessions must comply with the applicable Specific Use requirements of Chapters 12 through 30 of 20-29.
- Concessions or beachfront hotels that provide rental equipment (such as chairs, loungers, bicycles, etc.) must sanitize the rental equipment between each customer rental.
- Beach restrooms and showers must be sanitized at least every 3 hours.

Restaurant, Bars and All Establishments Serving Food and Alcohol
Restaurant Operations – Effective September 25, 2020, Broward County amended its regulations for all establishments serving food and/or alcohol to comply with Governor DeSantis' Executive Order moving all of Florida into Phase III. Emergency Order 20-29 includes the following for restaurants, bars etc:
- Parties must be limited to no more than six (6) persons total (or no more than 10 people, if all those people are of the same family or reside in the same household).
- All tables and chairs must be at least six (6) feet apart between parties.
- On-premises dining areas must be fully closed to patrons between the hours of midnight and 5AM.
- The sale of off-site (to-go) alcohol by restaurants and food establishments is prohibited between midnight and 5AM. Take-out and delivery of food is still permitted between midnight and 5AM.
Gym and Fitness Center Operations – All persons must wear a facial covering at all times while using or visiting a gym or fitness center, including while exercising.
Youth Activities and After-School Activities - Organized youth activities and after-school activities may operate in accordance with the guidelines established in Chapter 26 of Emergency Order 20-29 .
Public Community Pools and Private Club Pools - Pool and pool deck occupancy is limited to no greater than 50% maximum occupancy. No groups larger than ten (10) people. Seating and tables shall be set up with social distancing of at least six (6) feet between groups. Additional information can be found in Chapter 22 of Emergency Order 20-29.
Events at Function Spaces - Ballrooms, banquet halls, catering halls, and other event spaces may operate subject to regulations stated in Chapter 30 of Emergency Order 20-29 .
Signage Requirements – All Establishments that conduct in-person transactions with the public, other than parks and beaches, must conspicuously display the signage required by Chapter 7 of Emergency Order 20-29 . Signage requirements

Select City Parks and Recreational Facilities Open
Those visiting parks and recreational facilities must follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Florida Department of Health as well as the requirements of State, County and Local Emergency Orders. Park and Facility patrons must not enter a park or recreational facility if they have COVID 19 symptoms or have been exposed within the past 14 days. Please bring your own water for yourself and your pets, water fountains are not available at this time.
Hollywood Broadwalk
- The Broadwalk is open for exercising including walking, jogging and bike riding
- The Broadwalk is also open to access and patronize restaurants/food establishments and retailers
- Facial coverings must be worn at all times unless swimming or otherwise in a pool, ocean, or other body of water, provided that social distancing of at least six feet (6’) between persons not of the same household is maintained to the maximum extent practicable. Facial coverings, when not on, must be available and ready to use at all times. Individuals must be able to show their facials coverings upon request by local authority. Facial coverings should not be used by children under two (2) years of age or by anyone with a medical/health condition which would be worsened by the wearing of a facial covering..
- No skateboarding
- Social distancing of at least 6 feet is required
- No groups larger than 10 people
- Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. to Mondays at 5:00 a.m. bike riding will be prohibited on the Broadwalk from Tyler Street to Garfield Street to allow for Temporary Café Zone

Parks
The following parks are open 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for passive use only. Passive use includes walking, biking, running and individual enjoyment of the natural surroundings, unless otherwise noted below. No groups larger than 10 people or active organized team sports allowed at this time. Facial coverings must be worn at all times unless swimming or otherwise in a pool, ocean, or other body of water, provided that social distancing of at least six feet (6’) between persons not of the same household is maintained to the maximum extent practicable. Facial coverings, when not on, must be available and ready to use at all times. Individuals must be able to show their facials coverings upon request by local authority. Facial coverings should not be used by children under two (2) years of age or by anyone with a medical/health condition which would be worsened by the wearing of a facial covering. If a distance of six feet is not possible, a facial covering must be worn. No access to restrooms or water fountains. Beginning December 21, the City re-opened playgrounds, pavilions and restrooms at City-operated parks. Playgrounds and outdoor fitness areas are open with normal cleaning operations, but surfaces are difficult to disinfect. Boat ramps open for normal operations. Observation Tower is now closed. Please follow physical distancing requirements. Only one (1) boat per launch ramp at a time.
Ramp hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Once the parking area reaches capacity, the ramps will be closed.)
On-Water Activity - Boats must remain at least fifty (50) feet apart at all times. Please see Chapter 19 of Emergency Order 20-29 .
Golf Courses
- Golf courses at Hollywood Beach Golf Club, Eco Golf Club and Orangebrook Golf Club are open for play with restrictions. View restrictions by clicking here.
- The Driving Range at Orangebrook is open with limited capacity and physical distancing rules in place. Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. On Sunday and Wednesday the hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Community Garden
The Community Garden at Oak Lake requires anyone working in the garden to wear a mask.
ArtsPark Studio
No tours, lessons or private engagements at this time.
The ArtsPark Artists in Residence are accepting individual and groups of less than 10 for classes and instruction.

Hollywood Dog Beach (the area of the beach between Pershing and Custer Streets) is now open Friday, Saturday and Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All users must have daily or six month pass. Patrons must follow physical distancing when in park. Facial coverings must be worn at all times unless swimming or otherwise in a pool, ocean, or other body of water, provided that social distancing of at least six feet (6’) between persons not of the same household is maintained to the maximum extent practicable. Facial coverings, when not on, must be available and ready to use at all times. Individuals must be able to show their facials coverings upon request by local authority. Facial coverings should not be used by children under two (2) years of age or by anyone with a medical/health condition which would be worsened by the wearing of a facial covering., while maintaining a six foot distance from other individuals. Please bring your own water. Drinking fountain and showers are not available.. Permits can be purchased at Dog Beach only during operations hours at this time. Credit cards only. Hollywood Dog Beach is only the area located between Pershing and Custer Streets on Hollywood Beach during designated days/times.
Driftwood Community Pool
The Driftwood Community Pool, located at 3000 N 69th Avenue is currently closed to swimming due to COVID-19.
- Only courses where instructor can teach outside of the water or maintain 6 ft. physical distance.
- Lap Swimming, Private classes and Adult Exercise courses.
- NO OPEN SWIM at this time.
- Limited Capacity. Participants must reserve their spot before attending.
- Participants only inside facility.
- Physical distancing required at all times.
- Facial coverings must be worn outside of water.
- Temperature check for employees and patrons required before entry into facility.

Pavilion Rentals
Pavilion rentals are available for only parties less than 10. Pavilions must be rented in advance, no walk up rentals allowed. Visitors must adhere to physical distancing and must wear facial cover at all times unless swimming or otherwise in a pool, ocean, or other body of water, provided that social distancing of at least six feet (6’) between persons not of the same household is maintained to the maximum extent practicable. Facial coverings, when not on, must be available and ready to use at all times. Individuals must be able to show their facials coverings upon request by local authority. Facial coverings should not be used by children under two (2) years of age or by anyone with a medical/health condition which would be worsened by the wearing of a facial covering. If a distance of six feet is not possible, a facial covering must be worn. Venues will be limited to 1 rental per day. Only pavilions listed below are available for rental. City of Hollywood Public Works crews unlock and sanitizes with 70% alcohol each morning. Between 11:00 a.m. and noon crews clean and sanitize again. In the afternoon the Community Redevelopment Agency third party vendor cleans every hour. They are also taking extra measures to sanitize each facility. The facilities are cleaned one last time before the doors are locked for the evening. The crews start that final cleaning and closing process at 9:00 p.m.

Free COVID-19 Walk-Up Testing Site in West Hollywood
Priority Testing For School Staff and Children
Florida Department of Health in Broward County, in partnership with the City of Hollywood, is hosting a free COVID-19 Walk-Up Testing Site on Tuesday through Saturday at the Boulevard Heights Community Center, 6770 Garfield Street in West Hollywood from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Priority testing is available for school staff and children.
What Do I Need To Know In Order To Be Tested?
- Anyone can be tested regardless of age. Those under the age of 18 require parent or guardian consent.
- Anyone can be tested regardless of symptoms.
- Bring your appointment confirmation number with you, if you made an appointment.
What Happens When I Arrive?
- Each individual will be greeted and directed by personnel in protective gear.
- Each individual will be asked to provide their government issued ID, first and last name, health insurance card and contact information.
What is the Testing Process?
- A health professional in personal protective equipment will provide you with instructions.
- A soft swab will be inserted into your nose or throat to get the necessary sample. This may be slightly uncomfortable; however, the test is quick and should take less than a minute.
What Happens After I Am Tested?
- After you have been tested, you will be given information on what to do while awaiting test results. Please keep the instruction sheet until after you receive your results.
- Follow signage and directions for exiting the testing site.
- After being tested, continue to monitor and record symptoms.
- You will receive your test results via telephone call.
